New Story Online: Super Vice President Village Monster 2: Search for the Missing Heroes

Hey, I know things are kinda slow recently but I just wanted to say that an unexpected sequel has made its way out of the woodworks: Super Vice President Village Monster 2! It actually came about with some ideas from a friend as well as a few ideas I had left over. The end result was enough that I could write a sequel, which follows two new heroes as they search for Richie and Jim to clear their new boss' name. This time, the story is far more serious, though there are a few random moments thrown in. Way of The Samurai: Kenji's Tale Chapter 1

My first fanfic came after playing numerous hours of Way of the Samurai, which focuses on a small town in the middle of a civil war over the future of the Samurai. I had been a fan of the game for almost ten years and played it through numerous times. While replaying it with my fianceé, I began to wonder what Kenji might be thinking of while he was in Rokkotsu Pass. From there, I decided to write this story, which is pretty much a novelization of the game. The game, however, lends you incredible freedom to do practically whatever you want, so it also gives me a ton of space to work with. This first chapter basically sets up the story for the later chapters, each of which I hope to devote to a specific ending and/or title. It describes Kenji's backstory and his eventual arrival to Rokkotsu Pass.

Like I mentioned, future chapters will all be devoted to an ending or a title until all endings and titles have been obtained.

A Beary Jerry Superhero Story Chapter 1

When I wrote this story, it was more of an inside joke between me and my fianceé. She jokingly called me Jerbear, so I thought it would be funny to write a story about a superhero named Jerbear, full of inside jokes between me and my fianceé. Yet, at the same time, I wanted to make it funny for everyone else, which I hope it accomplished. The result is this story, which takes place in the fictional city of Arche.

Super Vice President Village Monster! Special Edition Chapter 12 + Bonus 2

Chapter twelve finally brings to light my original plan for the ending of the series. It deals with the defeat of the final ninja Mumbanou and the result of their plan to overthrow the ninjas.

This chapter explains the random title, which until this chapter was written, was meant only to be a random title that referenced several naming clichés. The super was mainly from the Super Nintendo style of naming all their games "Super _____". Vice President was a random elected official, like a boss in a video game. Village Monster came from the fact that so many games had a small village terrorized by a monster. Special Edition came not because of added content, but because everything comes out with a special edition, which may contain a few extra things usually not worth the extra money you're paying. However, writing this chapter gave me a great idea on how the title should be explained: as a nickname for the final ninja!

After the ending there are two bonus chapters which contain ideas I originally had for the story, but decided not to put them in. The first bonus chapter was based on the idea I came up with while writing chapter eight: killing the heroes off. While I still wanted to kill Ninja Tupac Frog and Mary Berry off, my original ending (which I liked much better) conflicted with killing Jim and Richie off. So, this alternate ending focuses on what the ending would have been like had I killed them both off.

The second bonus ending is an idea I came up with while writing chapter three. It simply shows Richie and Jim paying for the deaths of the ninjas.

Super Vice President Village Monster! Special Edition Chapter 11

Chapter eleven is where things finally start to come to a close. Mary and Richie head back to Jefferson's to take out Tobal, the purple ninja. Unfortunately, this chapter marks the end of Mary's usefulness and we see Richie take on Tobal alone. This chapter further accentuates Richie's brains over brawn characteristic, which if Jim had been in the same situation, would have resulted in failure.

Although I had planned for Mary to die doing something useful for the two, it didn't end up this way. He was becoming useful all the way up until his death, but died due to his weakness and fear. He did end up becoming invaluable though.

Unfortunately, I semi-broke my earlier plan of having no direct link with the defeat of the Angry Ninja Lawyers. In my eyes, Tobal's defeat was at his own hands, but I admit, can be viewed as a direct result of Richie's doing.

This chapter is a lot less random than the previous ones, mostly due to the serious undertones due to Mary's death and Richie's desperation. But at the same time, it has the same kind of humor that the first ten chapters have, just not as glaringly obvious.

Super Vice President Village Monster! Chapter 10

Chapter ten follows our heroes trying to recoup after the death of Ninja Tupac Frog and the defeat of Ted, the black ninja.

Another new concept was introduced in this chapter that is further explained in the final chapter. Each Angry Ninja Lawyer would be incredibly angry about something in their lives. They were angry before, however, there was no apparent reason, they were just angry. We also get to see Mary being useful for a change. He not only gives us a good lead that is correct, but he's responsible for taking out Ted.

This chapter also sets up a major plot twist that only gets resolved right before taking down the final ninja: Jim gets himself kidnapped. Due to Richie's eyesight, there's seemingly no possible way to beat the ninjas. However, Mary's usefulness will just have to continue.

Super Vice President Village Monster! Special Edition Chapter 9

Chapter nine in the series, which focuses on Peeman the yellow ninja, introduced a new concept to the series that added to the dramatic feel of the later chapters. For a while, I tried to figure out how the characters could help with Richie and Jim's quest to take Jefferson's back. Jenny obviously became a villain, but what about Ninja Tupac Frog and Mary Berry? Obviously Mary was trying to help and Ninja Tupac Frog was tagging along, but neither had been of much use to the two. So, while I was writing this chapter, the idea of not only killing off the villains but the heroes as well came to light. That way, the characters could help out in a particularly big way and still contribute to the story. The first one to die was Ninja Tupac Frog, who contributed to the idea I talked about in chapter seven's summary: Richie and Jim were not to be the ones to defeat the ninja lawyers.

This chapter also references the generous donation given in chapter four, which turns out to be given by Ninja Tupac Frog. It was an idea I had from the start, but couldn't think of a way to put it in the story.

Also, Kenji and Dojima are from the video game Way of the Samurai, of which I have posted a fanfic for on www.fanfiction.net. The "just a box" is an obvious reference to Metal Gear Solid.

Super Vice President Village Monster! Special Edition Chapter 8

Chapter eight was the first chapter since chapter two that I wrote in its entirety and published on the same day, which is also true for the rest of the series from this point on. This chapter follows Richie and Jim as they take out Elena, the green Angry Ninja Lawyer.

The idea that Jenny was one of the Angry Ninja Lawyers came while I was debating over the future of the story. After reading chapter five over, I began to ponder why she would need maple syrup. Then, the idea that she was one of the ninja lawyers and that it could be a trap came to mind. There were more pressing issues at the time, but when I came back to write chapter eight, the idea returned and I made it part of the story. Her "plan" was more fleshed out and maple syrup became Ninja Tupac Frog's weakness. I felt that it added a new way to shock readers, rather than the usual crazy antics of the two. It also added very well to the storyline, I felt.

Her death is obviously a reference to Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The idea came due to weeks of playing Zelda with my fianceé prior to writing this chapter. Also, I figured that Mary reading the story online and giving the information to the two heroes would not only explain his usual behind the times info, but add a humorous fourth-wall-breaking segment to the story.

Super Vice President Village Monster! Special Edition Chapter 7

The hilarious thing about chapter seven is that it was partially written around the same time as chapter six, but due to the split I was pondering, remained unfinished until January 5th, the date that I finished this and wrote the following chapters.

After almost six months of pondering, I decided that this would be the beginning of the end and that from this chapter onward, each chapter would focus on taking out an Angry Ninja Lawyer, up until the final chapter: chapter twelve.

I wanted to make it so that none of the Angry Ninja Lawyers were beaten or killed directly by the actions of Richie and Jim. At the time, I imagined that if Richie and Jim had anything to do with their deaths or incarcerations, any supporters or survivors of the Angry Ninja Lawyers could potentially come back and legally get their revenge. It also added to the hilarity of the story, as each ninja is taken out in a different random way (which very much defines the way the story is written).

You'll also notice that after this chapter, the story starts to take a dramatic turn. This was mainly because I started focusing on the story more than the randomness, which is the reverse of the first few chapters. This makes for a somewhat different feel, but it still has that hilarity and random feel to it. Also, this chapter starts referencing previous chapters jokes, something that continues on into the final chapter and that I thought was a funny addition to the chapters.

Super Vice President Village Monster! Chapter 6

Chapter six was written similarly to chapter three. It contains a surprise twist, which results in the characters of the story actually getting upset and reverting the changes. In reality, I was torn between two possible ways to continue the story and wrote chapter 6 to be a funny distraction.

Like chapter five, I had partially written this chapter down and forgotten about it, predominately due to the aformentioned split I was pondering. I was wanting to progress the story along, but was unsure whether I wanted to prolong the series by having the duo escape from the Angry Ninja Lawyers and gather more friends, or if it was time to start attacking the Angry Ninja Lawyers and taking them out. I felt that chapter six was funny in it's own way and distracting enough to give me time to think about where to take the series, yet at the same time I felt it was just an excuse and a throwaway chapter. In the end, after finishing it (ironically on the first of this year), I actually laugh and enjoy this chapter, moreso than some of the others.

Super Vice President Village Monster! Special Edition Chapter 5

Chapter five was the first chapter where I stopped and truly thought about where I wanted the story to start heading. It introduces us to Jenny, a friend of mine who, like Mike, read the story and asked to be a part of it. I tried to make Jenny the voice of reason as well as the sane character of the series. Hey, there's usually a crazy character in a series of sane characters, so you can consider Jenny to be the sane person in a series of crazy characters I suppose. Although I never really meant it to in the beginning, she also starts the movement against the Angry Ninja Lawyers. Originally I only meant for her errand to be another one of the crazy elements of the story, maybe even introduce another character later on.

We also learn in this chapter that Ninja Tupac Frog's real name is Hass Avocado. This was a request of Mike's, who wanted it to be his name in the story. I made it his real name, preferring his former name, since he requested it after chapter four.

This chapter also took the longest to publish, eleven months after chapter four. This was mostly due in part to writers block, as I felt that the series was going nowhere and had no idea where to take it. I had written the first half up to the revelation of Ninja Tupac Frog's true name around when chapter four had been published, but couldn't figure out how I wanted to progress the chapter. I stopped and thought up some ideas (none of which I liked), then eventually the story slipped out of mind and was forgotten. However, the story came back to mind sometime in April of 2009. I reread what I had wrote and began to think of ideas again. This time, I actually came up with the current ending and around mid May, typed it out and published it online.

Super Vice President Village Monster! Special Edition Chapter 4

The fourth chapter of the series, which introduces us to Ninja Tupac Frog, was primarily written for my friend Mike, who we've nicknamed Ninja Tupac Frog. He got the nickname from me, due to him constantly running around calling himself a ninja and jumping on things. But since the way he did so reminded me of a frog, and the fact that he had a white rag in his pocket (which reminded me of Tupac for some reason), I jokingly called him Ninja Tupac Frog. He liked the name and it stuck.

How he came to be in the story was a request on his part to be included. After reading the story, he wanted to be a part of it so I decided to include him in the next chapter, which happened to be chapter four. I wrote it out, then had him proofread it. After he gave his laughing approval, I put it next to the computer to be typed. It was a good couple of weeks though before it became officially typed and online.

Chapter four also sets up a cliffhanger, which is another friend of mine who asked to be in the series who will be introduced in chapter five. If you'd like to read it, check out http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2483440/4/Super_Vice_President_Village_Monster.

Super Vice President Village Monster! Special Edition Chapter 3

The third chapter of the series, which is incredibly short, came a month and a day later. It features a surprise twist in the series, which you'll just have to read to find out.

Chapter 2 left me in an awkward position, as I felt that the ending left me almost nowhere to go with the story. I started bringing paper with me wherever I went, jotting down ideas for the future of the series. However, nothing good nor funny came for chapter 3 (I believe that's when I came up with the idea for the ending however). After a few weeks, something finally came to me and I wrote the entire chapter on looseleaf paper. The idea was both funny and unexpected as well as gave me an incredible amount of leiway when I would write chapter 4. After showing my friends, who laughed heartily, I put it down with the intention of typing it and uploading it that day. However, time eluded me and it took me a little while longer before I finally finished typing it out.

Super Vice President Village Monster! Special Edition Chapter 2

The second chapter of the wacky twelve part story Super Vice President Village Monster! Special Edition was written the day after the first. No one had read the first chapter, but the sheer adrenaline of having published work made me compelled to write this chapter. It follows our friends as they head to Little Ceasers and have to fight the giant Bagel Bite Monster, meeting the newest character in their gang: Mary Berry!

When I first wrote this chapter, I had the Bagel Bite Monster handing Richie a book and making fun of his inability to read it. However, after showing a few of my friends, they pretty much all stated that the line felt harsh and poking fun at blind people. I agreed, so I edited out the line and replaced it with the one in the current story.

Super Vice President Village Monster! Special Edition Chapter 1

The first piece of work I'd like to share is the first story I ever uploaded (and what I consider to be my first piece of published work): Super Vice President Village Monster! Special Edition Chapter 1. It's hard to believe it's been online for almost two years! It's a twelve chapter story about two men named Jim and Richie who work for a grocery store, but it gets over taken by angry ninja lawyers who send them to the Compton store. They then decide to start an adventure to overthrow them.

The story is incredibly crazy and nonsensical at times. You never quite know what's going to happen next. It's similar in style to Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo in that way. For example, in the first chapter, Jim picks up an elephant and throws it at one of the angry ninja lawyers, pulling it from seemingly nowhere. It's written to be funny and catch you off guard, which at times can make the story seem pointless, but it still manages to make its prescense known. The first chapter pretty much sets up the storyline for the later adventures and let's you meet the two heroes, showing how the angry ninja laweyrs take over their store and our heroes taking their stand.

I still remember how it came to be. I was talking to a friend, who also was a writer, about writing a story. I told him I was thinking about writing a story about random guys, making up weird things for them to do, which made him laugh. Every time I told him something else, he would laugh even harder. A short while later, I hurt my back and was stuck at home. Bored, I decided to write the story I had talked about and surprise him with it. I wrote the first chapter in probably a half an hour. After reading it several times, I thought to myself "Why not publish this and see what people think?" So I logged onto Fictionpress and went through the process of uploading it. However, after reading the TOS, I found that several parts of the story violated it. At first, the angry ninja lawyers were the super saiyan angry ninja lawyers and the "company band" was supposed to be Judas Priest, but I had to change them in order to upload it. The story also had a preface, but the preface violated the TOS as well.

Anyways, if you're interested in reading the first chapter, visit: http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2483440/1/Super_Vice_President_Village_Monster. Thanks again for reading.
